Biographical Information[edit]

Dario Colović has been a long-time member of the Croatian national team.

He debuted for Croatia in the 2001 European Championship; the 17-year-old was 0 for 3 with two walks and handled one putout. [1] He was a regular by the 2003 European Championship, hitting .200/.235/.200; in the field, he had 9 putouts and an assist with no errors. [2] He hit .364/.440/.429 in the 2005 European Championship and again played error-free ball in the outfield (15 PO, 1 A). He led Croatia in hits (8, one ahead of Romeil Agladius and Michael Spicihrich), RBI (2, tied with Agladius and Matija Grofelnik), steals (2), runs (3, tied with Spicihrich and Agladius), average (.014 ahead of Agladius), OBP (.005 ahead of Agladius) and slugging (.59 ahead of Agladius). Playing in the US for college, he made All-Gulf South Conference in 2005 and 2007. [4] His 77 hits in 2005 were an Arkansas Tech record. [5] He did not play for Croatia in the 2007 European Championship, 2010 European Championship or 2012 European Championship.

He was back in the Croatian uniform for the 2014 European Championship. He hit .190/.346/.333, stole two bases in two tries and had 17 putouts with no errors. He tied for 4th in the event with three times hit-by-pitch. [6] With Nada SSM Split in the 2016 CEB Cup, he batted .267/.421/.533 with four runs and four RBI in five games. He was 10th in the Cup in slugging. [7]

In the 2016 European Championship, he hit .250/.280/.375 and had 19 putouts with no errors. He homered off Denis Leonov of Russia. [8] He produced at a .217/.379/.304 clip in the 2019 European Championship, fielding .933. His five walks tied him for 8th in the event. [9]
