Biographical Information[edit]

Chung-Hei Leung has pitched for the Hong Kong national team.

Leung played in the 2009 World Youth Championship, going 1 for 12 with a run and two RBI. He fielded .765 while starting at 2B for Hong Kong. [1] He appeared in the 2011 Asian Junior Championship and 2013 East Asian Games. [2] He allowed one hit, three walks, two wild pitches and four runs in 1 1/3 IP over two games in the 2014 Asian Games, posting Hong Kong's highest ERA; Yu-Chung Leung was next at 24.33. [3]

He started against Japan in the 2017 Asian Championship and was roughed up for three hits, four walks, a hit batsmen and an error in the nine batters he faced; he wound up with 8 runs (6 earned) allowed with no one retired. He also relieved against the Philippines, taking over Ka-Ho Sam Leung and pitching 3 innings (4 H, 2 BB, 3 R, 6 K) before Wing-Sing Li relieved him. [4] He had a complete game win over the Indonesian national team at the 2018 East Asian Baseball Cup, giving up six hits, two walks and two runs while fanning two. [5]

The 23-year-old started twice in the 2018 Asian Games, losing to Bronze Medal winner Taiwan (2 1/3 IP, 8 R; relieved by Gordon Chun-Ming Chau) and Pakistan (3 1/3 IP, 5 R; relieved by Li). His 20.25 ERA was third-highest among qualifiers in the Games; only Gunawan Pandu Khallista and Haicheng Gong were higher. He tied Gong, Siraphop Nadee, Nanda Dwi Saputra and Kevin Kawin Irwin for the most losses. [6]
