Biographical Information[edit]

Christian Flecha played in the minors and for the Puerto Rican national team.

Flecha was picked by the Kansas City Royals in the 27th round of the 2013 amateur draft, signing for a $100,000 bonus. The scout was Johnny Ramos. [1] He was 0-2 with a 5.56 ERA for the 2013 AZL Royals, striking out 12 in 11 1/3 IP but walking 11. For the '14 Burlington Royals, going 2-3 with a 6.00 ERA. In the 2014-2015 Senadores de San Juan, he surrendered five runs in two and a third innings.

Back with Burlington, he was 0-1 with a save and a 5.88 ERA. He was 1-1 with a save and a 6.03 ERA for the Idaho Falls Chukars. He moved to the independent leagues in 2017, posting a 4-1, 7.59 record for the Alpine Cowboys in the high-scoring Pecos League and hitting .320/.370/.400. He was 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA for the Gigantes de Carolina in 2017-2018. He was 2-5 with a save and a 4.37 ERA for the Road Warriors in 2018.

With the Gigantes, he was 1-1 with a 6.35 ERA in 2018-2019 and pitched three shutout innings in 2019-2020. He pitched twice for Puerto Rico in the 2020 Americas Olympic Qualifier (delayed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic). He relieved Jesús Ortiz in the 6th against the Dominican national team, a 4-2 deficit, the bases loaded and two outs. He got Juan Francisco on a grounder to escape that jam. Diego Goris reached on an error to open the 7th but Flecha struck out Charlie Valerio and Luis Liberato. Héctor Acevedo then relieved. His other outing, he relieved Jason García in the 8th with a 5-3 lead, men on second and third and one out. He allowed a game-tying hit to Edgard Montiel then gave way to Freddie Cabrera. [2]

He allowed six runs in seven innings for RA12 in 2021-2022, going 0-1.
