Chih-Hsien Yeh played for the Taiwan national team for about a decade and has coached for them for over a decade.

Yeh was an infielder in the days before there was a professional league in Taiwan. He played in the 1977 Intercontinental Cup, 1982 Amateur World Series, 1983 Asian Championship, 1983 Intercontinental Cup, 1984 Olympics, 1984 Amateur World Series, 1985 Asian Championship and 1985 Intercontinental Cup. In the 1984 Amateur World Series, he hit .158/.333/.316 but handled all 30 chances at second base flawlessly and Taiwan won Silver in its best finish to date (2008) in an Amateur World Series/Baseball World Cup.

Retiring as a player in 1987, Yeh became a successful coach at his alma mater, Fu Jen Catholic University. He coached for the national team in the 1994 Baseball World Cup, 1994 Asian Games, 1999 World Port Tournament, 1999 Intercontinental Cup, 1999 Asian Championship, 2001 Asian Championship, 2001 World Port Tournament, 2001 Baseball World Cup, 2002 World University Championship, 2004 World University Championship, 2005 Asian Championship, 2005 Baseball World Cup, 2006 World Baseball Classic, 2006 World University Championship, 2006 Intercontinental Cup, 2006 Asian Games (head , 2008 World University Championship and 2009 World Baseball Classic. He was head coach of the national team in 2005 and most of 2006 and replaced I-Chung Hong as manager once again following Taiwan's disappointing showing in the 2008 Olympics and controversial comments made by Hong afterwards. He led the club to a 0-2 finish in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, as two of the four CPBL teams withheld their players, greatly weakening Taiwan's squad. He remained Taiwan's skipper for the 2009 Asian Championship, 2009 Baseball World Cup, 2010 Haarlem Baseball Week and 2010 Asian Games.
