Biographical Information[edit]

Chieh-Chun Lee pitched for the Taiwanese national team and in the TML and the CPBL.

Lee represented Taiwan in the 1990 World Youth Championship, 1992 Junior World Championship, 1995 Asian Championship and 1995 Intercontinental Cup. In the 1995 Cup, he allowed an unearned run in one inning, losing to Kleber Ojima and Brazil when Marcio Irikura's sacrifice fly scored William Matumoto. The Taichung Agan drafted Lee in the first round of the 2000 TML draft. Lee didn't adapt to pro baseball in the first two years of his career, as he only had ERAs of 5.40 and 10.43 respectively. He broke out in 2002, when he pitched 38 games with an elite 2.98 ERA, and won the Most Improved Player Award.

When the two leagues merged in 2003, Lee was assigned to the First Financial Holdings Agan. His ERA rose to 4.00 in 47 games, but still manage to participated in the All-Star Game. Lee was 5-6 with a 4.34 ERA in 43 games in 2004, started 9 games and collected 3 saves. The Tamsui native had a huge improvement again in 2005, lowering his ERA into 2.98, and was selected into the All-Star for the third consecutive year. Lee became the most reliable relief pitcher from 2006 to 2008. His ERA never higher than 3, and he pitched on average 39 games a year. Lee struggled in 2009, his ERA rose to 6.04, and he was moved away from the setup man spot. The veteran reliever soon bounced back in 2010, when he played 33 games with an outstanding 2.59 ERA.

The La New Bears traded Lee and Yen-Wei Shih to the Brother Elephants for cash in 2011. 36-year-old Lee was still productive in that season, and recorded a 3.11 ERA in 55 games. However, he suffered from right shoulder injuries and missed nearly the entire 2012 season. He also served as the assistant pitching coach for the Brothers that year. The Brothers then released him on the off-season. The Uni-President Lions signed Lee in 2013. He pitched 40 1/3 innings with a 4.46 ERA, and announced his retirement on the end of the season. Lee is a junior baseball coach now (2023).

Lee's repertoire included a fastball (peak 92 mph), slider, curveball and cutter.

Overall, Lee was 34-41 with a 3.84 ERA and pitched 784 1/3 innings in fourteen seasons in the CPBL and TML.
