Biographical Information[edit]

Yen-Wei Shih was an outfielder in the CPBL for 9 years.

Shih was drafted by the La New Bears in the 9th round of the 2003 CPBL Draft. He mainly stayed in the minors in his first 5 seasons, only playing 47 games combined with the big club. Shih finally got a spot in 2010, and he hit .264/.314/.326 in 82 games. He was also selected into the 2010 CPBL All-Star Game, and he was 0-for-3. The Bears then traded him with Chieh-Chun Lee to the Brother Elephants for cash. Shih slumped to .204/.246/.296 in 2011, and he only played 23 games with the big club in the next two seasons. The Elephants then released him after the 2013 season, and his professional career ended.

Overall, Shih hit .252/.308/.322 with 101 hits in 11 seasons in the CPBL.
