Biographical Information[edit]

Lyle Lin has played in the minors and for the Taiwanese national team.

Lin was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 16th round of the 2016 Amateur Draft, but he refused to sign and went to the Arizona State University. He was drafted again in the 29th round of the 2018 Amateur Draft, but he refused to sign again. Lin finally started his pro career when the Arizona Diamondbacks drafted him in the 14th round of the 2019 Amateur Draft, but he struggled in his rookie year. He only hit .205/.274/.223 for the A- Hillsboro Hops, then the minor leagues were shut down due to the coronavirus in 2020.

The New Taipei native had a .221/.331/.279 batting line with the class-A Visalia Rawhide in 2021, and also played 10 games in AA for the Amarillo Sod Poodles. However, he slumped to .183/.246/.206 with the A+ Hillsboro Hops in 2022, then he requested that the D-Backs release him. The Toronto Blue Jays picked him up, but he still had a terrible .214/.333/.286 batting line in 2023 with A+ Vancouver Canadians.

Lin then made it onto Taiwan's 24-man roster for the 2023 Asian Games. [1]
