Biographical Information[edit]

Cam Bedrosian pitching in 2018

Cam Bedrosian is the son of 1987 National League Cy Young Award winner Steve Bedrosian. Cam was taken by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim with the 29th choice of the 2010 amateur draft, a first-round pick obtained from the Boston Red Sox as compensation for the loss of John Lackey. The scout was Chris McAlpin. After signing, he made his debut with the AZL Angels in July and was 0-2, 4.50 after five games.

Cam, who throws a fastball that touches the mid-90s as well as a slider, made his major league debut on June 3, 2014 and pitched 17 games with the Angels that season, with a record of 0-1 and a 6.52 ERA in 19 1/3 innings. All of his appearances came as a reliever. He earned his first big league victory on August 5, 2015, when he pitched a perfect 9th inning against the Cleveland Indians with the Angels down, 3-1, and his teammates rallied for three runs against closer Cody Allen in the bottom of the frame for a 4-3 win. Cam spent some time as the Halos closer in 2017, battling injuries most of the year. He made a career best 71 appearances in 2018.
