Buck Taylor has been a college coach.

A catcher and middle infielder in college, Taylor played and managed for the Vienna Lions when they won the title in the 1996 Austrian Baseball League. He also coached for the Austrian national team. He was assistant coach at San Francisco State from 1995-2000 then was assistant at Palomar College. In 2006, he became the head coach at Palomar and was 434-181 through 2018, winning several Conference Coach of the Year honors. He coached Nick Vincent, James Hoyt, Tim Hill and Marcus Hatley at Palomar. Taylor was an assistant coach at Kansas State University from 2019 to 2022. He then joined Ohio State University in 2023.
