Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Nick Vincent reached the majors with the San Diego Padres in 2012.

Selected by the Padres in the 18th round of the 2008 amateur draft, Vincent was signed by scout Brendan Hause and made his pro debut that summer for the Eugene Emeralds. He went 3-3 in 16 games for the club, split between the rotation and the bullpen, before making one late-season start for the AAA Portland Beavers. Exclusively a reliever in 2009, he went 4-2 with a 3.08 ERA in 59 games for the Lake Elsinore Storm. Back with Lake Elsinore the next year, he was 4-0 and posted a 1.87 ERA in 48 appearances.

Vincent spent 2010 with the San Antonio Missions, going 8-2 with a 2.27 ERA and 2 saves. He began 2012 with the Tucson Padres, but after recording a 11.42 ERA in 9 appearances, he was sent back to AA San Antonio. In 9 games for the Missions, he was 1-0 with a 1.86 ERA. He was called up to the majors in late June and made his big league debut on June 26th, facing the Houston Astros and throwing two scoreless innings of relief.
