Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Brady Feigl had a long trek through the minor leagues after being signed by the Atlanta Braves as an undrafted free agent prior to the 2014 season. It looked at first like he would made the majors quickly, as after just one season in the minors, he began the 2015 season pitching in AAA for the Gwinnett Braves, but after just one appearance on April 10th, in which he gave up two unearned runs in two-thirds of an inning, he went on the disabled list for the rest of the year after undergoing Tommy John surgery. When he returned in 2016, he made just 6 appearances, all at the Rookie-class level, so he basically had to start all over. It would be in another organization, as on December 8, 2016, he was traded to the Texas Rangers along with Tyrell Jenkins in return for P Luke Jackson.

He played in the Rangers' system from 2017 to 2019, with some decent results as his record over the three years was a combined 12-2, with stints in AAA in both 2018 and 2019, and ERAs of 1.53 and 3.13 those last two years. He again missed time with injuries in 2019, being limited to 16 outings, then following that season was claimed by the San Diego Padres in the minor league portion of the 2019 Rule V Draft. He never did get to pitch with the Padres: the COVID-19 pandemic wiped out the 2020 minor league season and when 2021 rolled around, he was injured again and became a free agent after the season. He had to go to the independent leagues to find his next job, signing with the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League in 2022, where he put up an ERA of 1.17 in 9 games. Still, he had pitched fewer than 10 innings since 2019 and was 32 by the following off-season, so teams were not exactly scrambling to sign him. He dis pitch a full season in 2023, split between the Lexington Counter Clocks and the Spire City Ghost Hounds of the Atlantic League, combining to go 3-2, 3.51 in 51 games. That and a good showing with the Tigres del Licey in the Dominican League the following winter got the attention of the Pittsburgh Pirates who signed him on January 21, 2024. Assigned to the AAA Indianapolis Indians, he continued to pitch well, going 7-2, 3.83 with well over a strikeout per inning in 33 games to earn a first call-up to the Show on August 25th. He was the 7th-oldest rookie to debut for the Pirates. He made his major league debut the next day, but it did not go well as he allowed 6 runs on 7 hits, including a homer by Isaac Paredes, in 1 2/3 innings in an 18-8 loss at home to the Chicago Cubs.

He is not to be confused with another pitcher named Brady Feigl, who was drafted in 2018.
