Biographical Information[edit]

Brad Grant has been a scouting director. His brother-in-law is Lee MacPhail IV (his sister married MacPhail), who has also worked in scouting.

Grant was an All-American swimmer in high school. He began his baseball career in 1994 as an intern in the Cleveland Indians marketing department. He became an assistant in Cleveland's Scouting Operations in 1995. In 1999, he was appointed Assistant Director of Scouting. He moved up to the Scouting Director job in November 2007. He was responsible for the drafts in which Cleveland selected Lonnie Chisenhall, Alex White, Jason Kipnis, Drew Pomeranz and Cord Phelps.
