Biographical Information[edit]

Lee MacPhail IV has been a long-time scout. He is the great-grandson of Larry MacPhail, the grandson of Lee MacPhail Jr., son of Lee MacPhail III and brother-in-law of Brad Grant. Lee IV was Assistant Director of Player Development and Scouting for the Baltimore Orioles from 1986-1995, then spent a year as Assistant to the General Manager of the Texas Rangers. In 1997-1998, he was Scouting Director for the Cleveland Indians. He was an area scout for the Minnesota Twins from 1999-2002, signing J.D. Durbin. He then became Director of Professional Scouting for the Montréal Expos, following them when they became the Washington Senators. In 2007, he was a professional scout for the Twins. He then returned to Baltimore as Director of Professional Scouting, a role he held until 2011.
