Biographical Information[edit]

Bin Yang pitched in the CPBL.

Yang was drafted by the Fubon Guardians in the 6th round of the 2019 CPBL Draft, and he was 2-5 with a 5.90 ERA in the minor league in 2019. He also pitched 2 games with the big club, and he allowed 6 runs in 3 innings. Yang still struggled in 2020 as his ERA was 6.56 with a 3-9 record in the minors, and he surrendered 19 runs in 15 1/3 innings with the big club. He pitched well in the minors in 2021, and he was 6-3 with a 2.13 ERA there. He led the minor league in wins, ERA and WHIP, and he tied Hu Chen for 2nd in strikeouts (15 behind Yu-Yu Fan). Thus, Yang got 5 starts in late 2021 season, and he had a solid 1.52 ERA in 23 2/3 innings.

The Guardians traded Yang with Chin-Hao Yang to the Rakuten Monkeys for Yao-Lin Wang and Tse-Bin Lin on August 31 after he had a 4.23 ERA in 11 starts in the minors in 2022. Yang soon entered the rotation of the Monkeys, and he was 2-1 with a 3.62 ERA. However, he slumped to 6-6 with a 5.45 ERA in the minors in 2023, and he led the league in losses, hits and homers allowed. Yang also had a 3.00 ERA in 6 relief outings with the big club.

Yang's repertoire includes a fastball (peak 92.5 mph), curveball and slider.
