Biographical information

Andres Duncan is the brother of Mariano Duncan and Enrique Duncan. He played professional baseball from 1991 to 1998 and in 2001.

He began his professional career with the Clinton Giants in 1991. In 347 at-bats, he hit .222 with one home run, 24 RBI and 36 stolen bases. For the San Jose Giants in 1992, he hit .231 with one home run, 32 RBI and 19 stolen bases.

Duncan spent the 1993 season with four teams, San Jose, the Phoenix Firebirds, the Shreveport Captains and the Fort Myers Miracle. In 111 at-bats with San Jose, he hit .225. He hit .500 in four at-bats with Phoenix and .147 in 75 at-bats with Shreveport. On August 28, he was traded to the Minnesota Twins with a player to be named later (Greg Brummett) and Aaron Fultz for Jim Deshaies. In 22 at-bats with their affiliate the Miracle, he hit .364. Overall, he hit .217 with 20 stolen bases that season.

In 1994, he played for the Nashville Xpress, hitting .254 with nine home runs, 46 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 397 at-bats. He split the 1995 season between the Hardware City Rock Cats and Salt Lake Buzz, hitting a combined .282 with 12 stolen bases in 266 at-bats.

He wound up in the Giants organization in 1996, his final season in affiliated American baseball. He played for the Firebirds and Captains, hitting a combined .251 with ten stolen bases in 299 at-bats.

In 1997, he played for the Bend Bandits of the Western League, hitting .241 in 266 at-bats. In 1998, he played for the Catskill Cougars of the Northeast League, hitting .345 in 229 at-bats. He played for the Camden Riversharks of the Atlantic League in 2001, hitting .265 in 132 at-bats.
