Team Bio[edit]

When Bend, OR ended its seventeen-year connection to the Northwest League after the 1994 season, the Western Baseball League placed a team there in its debut season as an independent league. The new team, known as the Bend Bandits, went 26-19 in the second half of their inaugural campaign to tie the Tri-City Posse for the best record. The Bandits lost a one-game playoff, though. That was the closest the team would come to a title. When the Western League shrunk from 8 teams to 6 in 1999, the Bandits were eliminated. Mark Charbonnet was perhaps the team's top player in their four-season history.
