Andre Thompson pitched in the minor leagues and the CPBL.

Thompson was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 21st round of the 1998 Amateur Draft, and he was 3-6 with a 6.20 ERA for the AZL White Sox in his first year. He went 7-1 with a 3.00 ERA for the Bristol White Sox in 1999, then he notched 15 saves with a 3.01 ERA in 45 appearances for the Burlington Bees in 2000. The White Sox then traded him with Gary Majewski and Orlando Rodriguez to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Antonio Osuna and Carlos Ortega. Simpson went 9-3 with a 2.30 ERA for the Wilmington Waves in 2001, but his ERA rose to 8.69 in 5 games with the Vero Beach Dodgers. Simpson only pitched 4 games with a 16.20 ERA in Vero Beach in 2002, and he also recorded a 7.36 ERA in 4 games for the South Georgia Waves. He moved to the Colorado Rockies in the middle of the 2003 season after the Dodgers released him, and he had a 3.72 ERA in 24 games for the Asheville Tourists.

The Evansville Otters then signed him, and he went 7-6 with a 3.22 ERA in 2003. He was 7-6 with a 3.88 ERA in 2004, then he improved to 7-5 with a 2.99 ERA in 2005. Simpson went to the Long Beach Armada in 2006, and he was 7-6 with a 3.28 ERA. The Brother Elephants then signed him in 2007, but he allowed 4 runs in his only appearance, then he was released. Simpson went 8-5 with a 5.80 ERA for the Orange County Flyers , and he was 3-1 with a .3.08 ERA in 2009. He had a 3.09 ERA with 14 saves and a 3-4 record in 2010, then he announced his retirement.
