Biographical Information[edit]
Andrés Duque has played in the minors and for the Ecuadorian national team.
He was signed originally by the Cincinnati Reds. In 2010, he hit .230/.284/.280 for the VSL Reds; in the outfield, he had 30 putouts, 2 assists and no errors. With the same team a year later, he slipped to .198/.253/.233 and fielded .875. He was with the DSL Diamondbacks/Reds in 2012, batting .215/.249/.265 and fielding .940, with 14 assists in 56 games in the outfield.
With Ecuador in the 2024 South American Championship, he hit cleanup in their opener and hit a sac fly off Chile's Emilio Germann-Cisterna his first time up. His first hit was off Peru's Marco Castellano. He finished the event 3-for-11 with a walk, two runs and a RBI in four games, with three putouts and two assists in right. [1]
