Biographical Information[edit]

András Csalló has been on the Hungarian national team.

He was 0-for-1 in the 2014 C-Level European Championship and allowed 4 runs in 1/3 IP. [1] Starting at first in the 2016 C-Level European Championship, he went 0 for 7 with 3 walks and 2 runs, fielded .964 and was 3-for-3 in steal attempts. He tied Matti Emery for 4th in putouts (25) and tied for 3rd in swipes. [2] He struck out in 9 of 11 AB in the 2018 C-Level European Championship but got hits the other two times, drew three walks and was second on Hungary with 3 RBI. He struck out the most in the tournament, two more than Alexander Ogg. [3] He was 0 for 3 in the 2021 European Championship Qualifier. [4]

In the 2022 European Championship Qualifier, he hit .154/.278/.154 and fielded .920 but Hungary won a spot in the 2023 European Championship, their first European Championship. [5] During the 2023 Euros, he backed up Sean Fekete at first base. With Fekete starting on the mound in their debut versus Italy, Csalló was at first and hit 7th. He struck out against Matteo Bocchi then was pinch-hit for by Norbert Goór. He was 0-for-4 for the event, with a walk (from Julian Faulhaber of Austria). [6]
