2016 C-Level European Championship
The 2016 C-Level European Championship was held July 25 to July 31, 2016 in Poland and Slovenia, hosted by the nations that finished last in the 2015 B-Level European Championship.
In Poland, Poland, Romania, Georgia (replacing Latvia, originally scheduled), Hungary and Estonia competed. Poland retained its spot in the B-Level Euros while Estonia was making its debut.
Poland went 5-0, with Marek Deska winning MVP honors, going 2-0 with a 0.56 ERA and 20 K in 16 IP. Pawel Sztejka (2-0, 1.86) won Best Pitcher.
Romania was 2-3. OF Klaus Nicolici (.500/.520/.722) was named Best Hitter.
Estonia made a fine debut at 2-2.
Hungary and Georgia tied for fourth at 1-3.
In Slovenia, Slovenia, Republic of Ireland, Finland, Norway and Serbia competed, Slovenia trying to return to the B-Level Euros but losing in the finale.
Serbia went 3-2 but beat Slovenia in the finale behind a two-run complete game (both unearned) by MVP Daniel Kozjak. CF Pedrag Kukoleca hit .643 to be named Best Hitter.
Slovenia was 3-2, losing the opener to Norway and the finale to Serbia.
Republic of Ireland went 2-2. Patrick O'Shea (2-0, 0.82) was named Best Pitcher.
Norway also was 2-2.
Finland was 1-3 to place last.
