Biographical Information[edit]

Klaus Nicolici has played in the Bundesliga and for the Romanian national team.

Nicolici hit .333/.375/.333 with eight RBI in five games in the 2014 C-Level European Championship and stole four bases in seven tries. He also pitched once, allowing nine runs in 1/3 IP in a loss to Ireland. He tied Dan Panaitescu for 4th in the event in RBI. [1] In 2015, he was 8 for 24 with 6 walks, a double, two runs and five RBI for the München-Haar Disciples, mainly backing up Michael Stephan at 1B. [2] He batted .218/.338/.236 for the Disciples in 2016. [3]

Klaus starred in the 2016 C-Level European Championship, producing at a .455/.520/.636 clip with 11 RBI in 5 games, stealing 3 bases in 3 tries. He was 4th in the event in average, 5th in OBP, 7th in slugging, first in hits and tied for third in steals. He won the Best Hitter award. [4] He was 2 for 11 with a walk, two runs and two RBI for the 2017 Disciples. [5] The next season, he hit .178/.218/.192 as the main right fielder for the Ulm Falcons. [6]

He batted .364/.533/.636 in the 2018 C-Level European Championship. He tied Heorhii Hvrytishvili for 9th in average, was 7th in OBP, tied Hvrytishvili for 7th in slugging and was second with three doubles. [7] At the 2019 B-Level European Championship, he hit .278/.381/.333. [8] He was 2 for 9 with a walk, hit-by-pitch, run and RBI in the 2021 European Championship Qualifier. [9]
