Biographical Information[edit]

Julian Faulhaber has been on the Austrian national team.

He debuted with the 2019 Wiener Neustadt Diving Ducks, going 2-for-42 with 7 walks and 19 strikeouts the year he turned 16. [1] In 2020, he improved to .375/.474/.594 in limited action. [2] He was 2-1 with a 5.66 ERA in 2021 and hit .158/.302/.237. [3]

Faulhaber beat Lithuania in the 2021 European U18 Championship, allowing two unearned runs in five innings; he was 1 for 17 for them, playing first regularly. [4] In the 2022 Federations Cup, he was at .286/.389/.357 with five runs in four games. He tied for 7th in runs. [5] In the regular Austrian season, he batted .339/.417/.591 with 31 RBI in 28 games, showing big strides while still a teenager. He had a 1-2, 4.09 record on the hill. [6] He was 8th in the league in hits (39), tied for second with 3 triples (one behind Mo Hackl), tied Richard Alzinger for 7yj in homers (6) and was second to Sammy Hackl in RBI.

He slipped to .255/.375/.275 in 2023. [7] In the 2023 U23 European Championship, he hit .267/.353/.400 and was 0-1 with a 3.50 ERA, losing to the Czechs. [8] He then played for Austria in the 2023 European Championship, pitching twice and not batting. Starting against champion Spain, he began by walking former major leaguer Engel Beltre but retired Omar Hernández and got Edison Valerio to hit into a double play. He struck out Jesús Ustariz to open a 1-2-3 second. Overall, he allowed four runs in six in a loss to Jorge Balboa, much better than his bullpen fared. The lefty's other outing was in the 15th/16th place game versus Hungary. Relieving Lukas Inmann, he closed out a 15-5 win. He retired Carlos Rubio, walked Csaba Goór, struck out Ádám Domsicz, walked Peter Gornik then got Graeham Luttor to hit into a force. Only Christian Tomsich worked more innings for Austria in the '23 Euros. [9]
