Biographical Information[edit]

Anderson Féliz has played in the minor leagues and for the Dominican national team.

Féliz was signed by the New York Yankees in 2008 [1], and he hit .254/.354/.352 for the DSL Yankees 2 in 2009, his first season. He scored 35 runs in 40 games and fielded .923 at second. His batting line was .273/.324/.439 for the GCL Yankees in 2010, and he also went 7-for-25 with the Tampa Yankees. He improved his 2B fielding to .951. His six triples were one behind Gulf Coast League leader Keury De La Cruz. He was named the GCL All-Star second baseman. [2]

Féliz slumped to .217/.305/.333 with the Charleston RiverDogs in 2011, and he hit .315/.398/.466 there in limited time (due to injury?) in 2012. His 27 doubles in 2011 tied Abraham Almonte and Brandon Laird for 7th in the Yankees chain. He also played 23 games with a .239/.350/.343 batting line in Tampa in that season, and he recorded a .265/.340/.346 batting line there in 2013. Féliz struggled in 2014 as his batting line was .190/.224/.304 in Tampa, and he went 6-for-16 in the GCL.

The Santo Domingo native left the Yankees system after the 2014 season, and he had a .275/.344/.415 batting line for the Lancaster Barnstormers in 2015. He then represented the Dominican Republic in the 2015 Premier 12. Féliz was 1-for-5 with a double against the USA, and he went 0-for-4 against South Korea. He played well against Venezuela as he collected 3 hits and a walk, then he went 3-for-5 against Mexico. Féliz's slash line in the entire event was .389/.421/.556 with 3 doubles and 2 RBI. [3]

The Pittsburgh Pirates then signed him, and Féliz hit .275/.344/.415 for the Altoona Curve in 2016. The utility man played every position except catcher and pitcher. He hit .246/.343/.366 for the Curve in 2017, but his batting line fell to .209/.257/.328 for the Indianapolis Indians. He recorded a .298/.356/.430 batting line for the Toros del Este in the winter, and the Baltimore Orioles signed him. Féliz crushed 10 homers with a .280/.347/.410 batting line for the Bowie Baysox in 2018 and he hit .244/.292/.289 for the Norfolk Tides. He stole 20 bases in 25 tries for Bowie, tying Cavan Biggio for 10th in the Eastern League and ranking 5th in the O's chain, between Cedric Mullins and Cole Billingsley.

The veteran struggled again in class AAA as he only hit .207/.277/.282 in 2019, and he had a .285/.363/.445 batting line in 37 games with the Baysox. He batted .238/.394/.313 in winter ball with the Toros, and he went 1-for-4 in 2020-2021 after the coronavirus shut down the minor leagues. He played for three teams the next winter, and he was 1-for-10 with the Leones del Escogido, 2-for-16 with the Caimanes de Barranquilla and 2-for-18 with the Gigantes de Rivas. Féliz crushed 7 homers with a .244/.324/.376 batting line in Lancaster in 2022, and he hit .222/.300/.222 for the Leones while batting .231/.310/.308 for the Gigantes de Carolina. The '22 season was his last season as a professional player.
