All-American Baseball Challenge
The All-American Baseball Challenge arose following the cancellation of the 2020 Frontier League due to the coronavirus pandemic. It featured six teams in the New York City metropolitan area:
- Jersey Wise Guys
- New Jersey Jackals
- New York Brave
- Rockland Boulders
- Skylands Cardinals
- Sussex County Miners
The Jackals and Wise Guys shared Yogi Berra Stadium as their home stadium, while the Boulders and Brave shared Palisades Credit Union Park and the Miners and Cardinals shared Skylands Stadium.
The Miners paced the league with a 16-6 record, while the Boulders were 14-9. The Jackals went 12-10, the Brave went 11-13, the Wise Guys were 10-13 and the Cardinals were 6-18, 11 games behind Sussex County. The Jackals won the league playoffs, going 2-0.
Major leaguers Vin Mazzaro and Taylor Motter played in the league.
Phil Capra and Steve Figueroa paced the loop with 24 games played. William Salas led the league with 114 plate appearances, 99 at-bats, 23 runs and 33 hits. Cito Culver led with 13 doubles. Tucker Nathans led with 3 triples, 22 RBI, 21 walks, a .629 slugging percentage and 56 total bases. Albert Cipion paced the loop with 6 home runs. Nick Shumpert led with 15 stolen bases. Vicente Conde led with 36 strikeouts. Zach Racusin hit .475 in 40 at-bats, while Culver hit .395 in 81 at-bats. Racusin and Culver were the top two in on-base percentage and OPS as well, at .529 and .495 and 1.129 and 1.112, respectively.
Eduard Reyes led with 4 wins, 43 innings pitched and tied Matt Dallas with 53 strikeouts; Tyler Kovalewich and Tyler Suellentrop led with 4 losses each. Kovalewich also led with 46 hits allowed. Multiple players had perfect winning percentages of 1.000. Brandon Brosher paced the loop with a 0.00 ERA in 17.2 innings; among pitchers with a substantial amount of IP, Reyes led with a 1.67 mark. Alex Fishberg led with 15 appearances, while Reyes, Chris Cepeda and Corey Martinez led the league with 7 starts. Luke Burton led the league with 5 saves. Layne Gusler led the league with 31 runs, 28 earned runs and 5 home runs allowed. Jake Voss led with 23 walks and AJ Candelario threw the most wild pitches, with 9. Matt Valin and Alex Vargas paced the loop with 8 hit by pitches, each.
