Biographical Information

Adrian Anthony has been a Hoofdklasse outfielder.

Anthony was 1 for 5 with 3 runs as a backup flyhawk for DOOR Neptunus in 2005, playing behind Harvey Monte (RF), Dirk van 't Klooster (CF) and Melfried Comenencia (LF). In 2006, he moved to ADO as a backup to LF James Rutherford and hit .229/.357/.286. He was 1 for 11 in the postseason. By 2007, the 21-year-old was starting in left for ADO; he batted .269/.341/.336 and fielded .912. In 2008, he played for HCAW and slumped to .184/.234/.282, fielding only .848 in left.

Anthony made good strides in 2009, producing at a .313/.374/.389 clip and fielding .955. He was 20th in the league in average, between Jason Halman and Remco Draijer. Adrian slumped again in 2010, hitting .253/.343/.333 with 8 steals in 15 tries. He tied for 6th in the circuit in steals, but was first in times caught stealing and third in strikeouts (39). In his fourth campaign for HCAW, he hit only .164/.218/.211, the third-lowest average in the 2011 Hoofdklasse (among batting title qualifiers). He did tie Draijer for 8th in the league in walks (27) but led with 41 strikeouts.

Switching back to Neptunus in 2012, he put up his best season to that point, batting .303/.426/.404 with 28 runs in 34 games and played error-free ball. He was 9th in the league in OBP and tied Danny Rombley for 11th with 24 walks. In the 2012 Holland Series, he was 2 for 15 with a walk and a double. After no errors in the regular season, he made errors on two of five chances in the Series, which Neptunus lost in an upset to Corendon Kinheim. His two-base error in Game 1 made a 1-0 deficit into a 3-0 one as Neptunus dropped the opener, 4-2.
