Biographical Information[edit]
Aaron Dunsmore has played in Canada, Sweden and Germany.
Dunsmore set his junior college's single-season and career records for doubles. He hit .323/.408/.583 with 55 RBI in 57 games after transferring to Dayton for 2009. He was second in the Atlantic-10 Conference in total bases (137), tied for first in triples (6), tied for 9th in home runs (11) and 8th in RBI. In 2010, he batted .307/.363/.579 with 13 homers, 46 runs and 54 RBI in 54 contests. He was tied for 6th in the A-10 in dingers, 9th in total bases (132), 6th in doubles (19) and 9th in RBI. In the 2010 World University Championship, he put up some very unusual statistics: 1 for 13, 5 walks, 5 runs, 3 RBI, with 8 runs produced to 1 hit.
With the 2011 Calgary Vipers, Dunsmore produced at a .308/.365/.452 clip with 21 runs and 15 RBI in 41 games. He was MVP of the Western Major Baseball League in 2012, hitting .403 for the Swift Current Indians. After spending the winter in Australia, he signed with the Karlskoga Bats in Sweden, joining 2010 Canadian national college teammate Shawn Hetherington. Dunsmore excelled in the 2013 Elitserien, batting .507/.552/.805 with 21 runs and 30 RBI. He would have won the batting title if he qualified, was 4th in RBI (behind Peter Johannessen, Björn Johannessen and Magnus Pilegård), tied for first in doubles (12, even with the Johannessen brothers) and tied for second in home runs (2, behind Matt Merrifield). He played 2014 with the Red Deer Riggers.
In 2015, he signed with Germany's Heidenheim Heidekoepfe. In the 2015 European Cup, he hit .333 for Heidenheim and fielded .870; he was 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA, beating the KNTU Elizavetgrad club.
