Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman A.J. Kirby-Jones was MVP of the 2009 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament and made the All-Tournament team in 2008 and 2010 as well. He finished his college career with school records in home runs (51) and RBI (191).

Kirby-Jones was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the ninth round of the 2010 amateur draft and made his pro debut that summer with the Vancouver Canadians, hitting .259 with 14 home runs. Following the 2012 season, he was traded with Tyson Ross to the San Diego Padres for Andy Parrino and Andrew Werner.

Kirby-Jones returned to Tennessee Tech as a student assistant coach in 2016.
