The 2024 Italian Series featured ASD San Marino versus Parma.

Parma[edit]

Parma had won 11 titles, but the most recent had been in 2010. Noel González and Luis González led the offense while Erly Casanova, Raymond Figueredo and Matteo Bocchi provided the pitching.

San Marino[edit]

San Marino had won five titles, including two of the past three. Their top batters were Jiandido Tromp, Marcos Diaz and Oscar Angulo. Christian Pedrol was their top starter and Fernando Baez their closer.

  • August 24: Parma 4, San Marino 2. Figueredo, Jose Diaz and Casanova combine on a two-hitter, 2B Gabriele Angioi raps three hits and scores a pair and 3B Alex Liddi, a former major leaguer, drives in two for Parma. Henry Centeno gets the loss.
  • August 25: Parma 9, San Marino 7. Down 7-4, Parma jumps on Luca Di Raffaele for 5 in the 6th in a comeback win, the decision going to Luis Santana. SS Luis González has three hits and three RBI.
  • August 29: Parma 2, San Marino 0. Casanova flings a two-hit whitewash to outduel Jesus Lage. The only runs come in the 6th on a single by DH Wander Encarnación.
  • August 30: San Marino 7, Parma 5. Marcos Diaz scores three while Centeno, Pedrol and Baez strike out 11. Cesare Astorri hits a two-run, pinch-hit homer, while Jose Diaz is not as sharp in the loss.
  • August 31: Parma 6, San Marino 0. Parma wins the Series thanks to one-hit pitching by Bocci and Claudio Scotti, who combine to strike out 12. MVP Liddi scores two and drives in two. Angulo has San Marino's lone hit, while the decision goes to Gabriele Vassalotti.
