Biographical Information[edit]

Luca Di Raffaele has pitched in Italy's Serie A1.

Di Raffaele allowed two runs in 6 2/3 IP as a rookie for his hometown Rimini club in 2016. He struck out 8 but walked 8. In the 2017 European Champions Cup, he walked seven and allowed six runs (five earned) in four innings in a loss to Neptunus and Rob Cordemans. [1] He was 0-1 with a 4.93 ERA in 2017 as Rimini won the title. The southpaw did not play in Italy's top league in 2018.

In '19, he was 1-3 with a save and 2.57 ERA for the Godo Knights. He switched to ASD San Marino for 2020 and went 2-0 with two saves and a 1.75 ERA; he fanned 24 and walked 14 in 20 innings, allowing only 11 hits. He tied for third in saves, one behind Alex Bassani and Dimitri Kourtis. [2] He allowed two runs (one earned) in one inning in the 2020 Italian Series as San Marino fell to Bologna. [3]

Luca was 3-1 with a 3.29 ERA in 2021, fanning 63 and giving up only 15 hits in 38 1/3 IP (control was still an issue as he walked 22). [4] He lost Game 2 of the 2021 Italian Series but San Marino took the other three from Bologna for the title.
