Biographical Information

Luca Di Raffaele has pitched in Italy's Serie A1.

Di Raffaele allowed two runs in 6 2/3 IP as a rookie for his hometown Rimini club in 2016. He struck out 8 but walked 8. In the 2017 European Champions Cup, he walked seven and allowed six runs (five earned) in four innings in a loss to Neptunus and Rob Cordemans. He was 0-1 with a 4.93 ERA in 2017 as Rimini won the title. The southpaw did not play in Italy's top league in 2018.

In '19, he was 1-3 with a save and 2.57 ERA for the Godo Knights. He switched to ASD San Marino for 2020 and went 2-0 with two saves and a 1.75 ERA; he fanned 24 and walked 14 in 20 innings, allowing only 11 hits. He tied for third in saves, one behind Alex Bassani and Dimitri Kourtis. He allowed two runs (one earned) in one inning in the 2020 Italian Series as San Marino fell to Bologna.

Luca was 3-1 with a 3.29 ERA in 2021, fanning 63 and giving up only 15 hits in 38 1/3 IP (control was still an issue as he walked 22). He lost Game 2 of the 2021 Italian Series but San Marino took the other three from Bologna for the title.
