The 2019 Latin American Series was played in Veracruz, Mexico from January 26 to February 1. This year saw the series grow to six teams, so four venues were needed, the main stadium being Estadio Universitario Beto Ávila.
Entering the series for the first time was the Argentine Baseball League. The Curaçao Winter League was invited back after making their debut in 2018, but withdrew before the series began. Tournament host Veracruz League provided a second team to replace Curaçao bringing the number of competing teams to six.
A week after the tournament ended the Toros de Herrera became the first Panamanian team to win the Caribbean Series since 1960.
