The 2007 Detroit Tigers were the oldest team in the American League, with an average age of 30.9. Every one of the starting position players was at least 30 except for Curtis Granderson, with DH Gary Sheffield the oldest at age 38.
The starting rotation, however, were all under 30 except for 42-year-old Kenny Rogers who missed the first half of the season with an injury. The relievers were somewhat older, though, with the most-frequently-used reliever being 39-year-old Todd Jones with over 60 appearances.
