The 1984 Seattle Mariners had the American League Rookie of the Year (Alvin Davis) and the runner-up (Mark Langston). First baseman Davis hit .284 with 27 homers and 116 RBI, while pitcher Langston went 17-10 with a league-high 204 strikeouts.
