1959 Venezuelan Pan American Games Team
The 1959 Venezuelan Pan American Games Team won the 1959 Pan American Games. Through 2018, it marks the only Gold for the Venezuelan national team in a Pan American Games. In 2015, the team was inducted into the Venezuelan Baseball Hall of Fame; only the Heroes del 41 had been inducted previously as a team.
Team members were manager José Antonio Casanova, pitchers Manuel Pérez Bolaños, Luis Peñalver, Enrique Capecchi, Francisco Oliveros, Tadeo Flores, José Pérez, catchers William Tronconis and Raúl Landaeta, infielders José Flores, Rubén Millán, Luis Manuel Hernández, Dámaso Blanco and Domingo Martín, outfielders Miguel Girón, Eduardo Amaya, Lucas Ferreira and Francisco López, coach Andrés Quintero, delegate Antonio Lares, medic José Domingo Martínez Morales and masseuse Jesús Rodil. Blanco, Casanova and Peñalver had all been inducted into the Venezuelan Hall of Fame individually prior to the team's induction.
