José Flores Hagen (Negrón)

José Flores was the first baseman for the Venezuelan national team that won Gold in the 1959 Pan American Games (the only Venezuelan Gold Medal in baseball in the Pan American Games through 2015). He led the tournament with three triples and was named the All-Star first baseman. He also pitched in the Pan Am Games. In the 1959 Central American and Caribbean Games, he was 7 for 23 with 10 runs as Venezuela won the Silver Medal. He had 13 error-free chances in right and again played first as well; he was Venezuela's cleanup man. He tied for 4th in the event with 8 RBI and tied Gus Gil for 3rd in runs. Flores did not play pro baseball.
