Biographical Information[edit]
Domingo Martín was an infielder on the Venezuelan national team that won the Gold in the 1959 Pan American Games (Venezuela's only baseball Pan American Games Gold through 2014). He was Venezuela's shortstop and regular leadoff man in the 1959 Central American and Caribbean Games, when they won the Silver Medal. He was 9 for 39 with 8 runs, fielding .915. He tied Chico Salmon, Guillermo Rosado Ramos and Luis Guillermo Marrero Torres for 6th in the Games in runs. Instead of playing baseball for a living, though, he became a dermatologist.
