Biographical Information[edit]
Dámaso Blanco saw time in parts of three seasons with the San Francisco Giants in the 1970s. He played for the Venezuelan national team that won the Gold Medal in the 1959 Pan American Games; it was their only baseball Gold in a Pan American Games through 2014. He had only 33 at-bats in 72 games in three major league seasons, used primarily as a defensive substitute. He hit .249 with no home runs in 754 games in the Venezuelan League, over 16 seasons, but his defense was so exemplary he was inducted into the Salón de la Fama del Béisbol Venezolano in 2013, the lone player picked that year.
