History, Comments, Contributions[edit]
The 1957 Kansas City Athletics were the first team in baseball history to have no pitchers qualify for the ERA title, which required pitching at least one inning for each of a team's scheduled games, or 154 innings in this case. The next teams to achieve this feat were the 1995 St. Louis Cardinals, in a shortened season, and the 1996 Oakland Athletics in 162 games. This then became relatively frequent starting in the 2010s. Kansas City's workhorse pitcher was Ned Garver, who pitched 145 1/3 innings, closely followed by swingman Tom Morgan, who logged 143 2/3.
