History, Comments, Contributions[edit]
The 1952 Chicago Cubs finished at .500, with 77 wins and 77 losses, good for 5th place in the National League. While this seems like a rather pedestrian record, it was the best finish for the team in the period that ran from 1947 to 1962: they had a losing record every other of those 16 years, and finished in last place 5time, and next-to-last another 6 times in that span.
Awards and Honors[edit]
- All-Stars: Toby Atwell, Bob Rush and Hank Sauer
- NL MVP: Hank Sauer
