Biographical Information[edit]
Zach Wilkins played college ball at Palomar College and the University of Nevada, Reno from 2013-2016. He then moved on to graduate school at the University of Arizona where he worked as a graduate assistant coach during the 2018-2019 seasons. At Arizona, Wilkins was reunited with his 2015 Reno coach, Jay Johnson.
Wilkins joined the Dixie State University Trailblazers in the summer of 2019 as their pitching coach and stayed there for three seasons. The university moved from Division II to Division I during this period. Wilkins left Dixie State (now Utah Tech University) in the summer of 2022 for a coaching position with the Iowa Western Community College Reivers where he did not stay long.
The Houston Astros hired Wilkins as a pitching coach for the Fayetteville Woodpeckers in 2023-2024.
Zach is the son of former major leaguer Dean Wilkins.
