Ferreras signed with the Chicago Cubs in 1998. He was 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA for the 1998 DSL Cubs then improved to 6-1, 3.55 in his second year with the team. In 2000, he had a 8-2, 2.27 record for the DSL Cubs. He struck out 113 in 95 innings, finishing second in the Dominican Summer League in Ks.
He came stateside in 2001 with the Boise Hawks, going 1-0 with six saves and a 3.16 ERA. Moving up to the Lansing Lugnuts in 2002, he went 3-6 with a save and a 2.78 ERA in 51 outings. The left-hander fanned 67 but walked 45 in 64 2/3 IP while giving up just 50 hits. He led the club in appearances and had a better ERA than future major leaguers Sergio Mitre, Carmen Pignatiello, Renyel Pinto, Jae-kuk Ryu and Felix Sanchez, all teammates.
In 2003, the Jaragua native pitched for Lansing (4-1, 3.56, 62 K in 55 2/3 IP) and the Daytona Cubs (0-2, 6.86). His control improved as he walked 30 in 76 2/3 innings. During 2004, the 23-year-old was with Boise (3-2, 2.55) and Lansing (2-2, 4.01), walking only 11 in 67 1/3 IP between the two stops.
Ferreras split 2005 between Daytona (3-5, 5.21, 75 K in 65 2/3 IP) and the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx (2-4, 2 Sv, 5.52 in his first 30 AA games). He struck out 31 in 29 1/3 innings for West Tenn but gave up 43 hits.
In '06, Yorkin pitched for the Montgomery Biscuits (1-3, 39 H, 28 R in 21 1/3 IP) to end his Organized Baseball career on a sour note. He also had a 4-6, 3.13 record for the independent San Angelo Colts.
He signed with the Catania Warriors Paternò of the Italian Baseball League in 2010. He had a rough debut in Italy, giving up six runs, seven hits and four walks in three innings in an Opening Day loss to Kris Wilson and Nettuno.
