Biographical Information[edit]
Yong-deuk Woo played, managed and coached in the Korea Baseball Organization.
Woo played for the South Korean national team in the 1971 Asian Championship, 1973 Asian Championship, 1975 Asian Championship, 1975 Intercontinental Cup and 1976 Amateur World Series. When the KBO was founded in 1982, Woo signed with the Samsung Lions as a player-coach. He was 2-for-18 in 1983, then he retired as a player. Woo was the batting coach for the Lions from 1984 to 1989, and he became their bench coach from 1990 to 1992. The Lions named him their new manager in 1993, and he managed them until he was fired in 1995. Woo then managed the minor league team of the Lotte Giants from 1998 to 2000, and he was their big club manager from 2001 to 2002.
