Biographical Information

Yin-Hao Lai pitched in the CPBL.

Lai was drafted by the Rakuten Monkeys in the third round of the 2023 CPBL Draft, and he didn't allow any runs in his first four appearances in the 2024 spring training. Since Bradin Hagens left the team, Kuan-Yu Chen and Hung-Wen Chen both struggled, Lai was named the closer of the Monkeys as a rookie. He debuted on April 4 against the Wei-Chuan Dragons, but he gave up a leadoff single to Kai-Wen Cheng. He then picked off pinch-runner Yu-Ming Chang, struck out Cheng-Yu Chang and retired Cheng-Lin Jan to notch a save. Lai broke Cheng-Yang Chu's record for the youngest pitcher to get a save in the CPBL.

Lai's repertoire includes a fastball (peak 93.2 mph), curveball, forkball and slider.
