Biographical Information[edit]
Yexelis Nagua pitched for Venezuela in the 2012 Women's Baseball World Cup. In her first outing, she relieved Josefina Cumana and got the win over Cuba, allowing one unearned run in 3 2/3 IP. She tossed a shutout inning of relief to finish a 3-0 loss to eventual champion Japan. In her third game, she was less effective as a starter against the Netherlands (7 BB, 6 R, 4 ER, 6 K in 4 2/3 IP) but got her second win. She finished 6th in the tournament in lowest opponent average (.212), tied for second in wins (even with Jessica Bérubé, Kristin Caldwell, Stacy Piagno and Mika Konishi, one behind Yukari Isozaki) and tied Yui Shingu, Piagno and Caldwell for 8th with six whiffs.
