New York Yankees General Managers
(Redirected from Yankees General Managers)
Like many of the major league baseball teams in the early days of baseball, the team manager often served as general manager in addition to his managerial duties. The New York Yankees were no exception. The team's first business manager was Harry Sparrow, while the team's official General Manager was Ed Barrow. Among those to have served as GM were Larry and Lee MacPhail, George Weiss, Gabe Paul, as well as former managers Ralph Houk, Gene Michael and Lou Piniella. Even owner Dan Topping's son Dan Jr. served a brief stint as team GM.
