Biographical Information[edit]
Willie Wells Jr. was the son of Hall of Famer Willie Wells. He broke in with the 1944 Memphis Red Sox and hit .120, then increased it to .196 the next year. He hit .167 for the 1946 Chicago American Giants, then spent 1947 back in Memphis. In 1948, Wells Jr. hit .251 for the Red Sox as a teammate of his dad's, who now played third to Willie Junior's short.
In 1950, Willie played for his father with the Winnipeg Buffalos in the Mandak League and he finished his career with the 1951 New Orleans Eagles.
