Biographical Information[edit]

Wen-Chuan Lee pitched in the CPBL for 8 years.

Lee was signed by the Brother Elephants when they were founded in 1990, and he was 4-5 with a 3.16 ERA in his first year. He was also used as outfielder, and he hit .227/.333.227 in 44 at-bats. Lee was the first player in CPBL who both pitched and batted for more than 15 games, and only Ching-He Chuang has since done so in CPBL history (through 2023). He then focused on batting in 1991, and he hit .125/.152/.136 in 46 games. Lee had a 4.26 ERA in 10 games in 1992, and he pitched 10 games with a 3.57 ERA in 1993. He became a full-time batter again in 1994 after allowing 4 runs in 2 innings, and he hit .255/.325/.336 in 1995. Lee's batting line was .156/.253/.221 in 1996, and he only played 32 games with a .154/.214/.205 batting line in 1997. He announced his retirement after the 1997 season.

Overall, Lee was 6-6 with a 3.74 ERA, struck out 25 and pitched 132 1/3 innings in 8 seasons in the CPBL. He hit .193/.264/.247 with 76 hits and 16 doubles as a batter.
