Biographical Information[edit]

Wayde Kitchens was an All-American and spent two seasons in the independent leagues.

Wayde was 0-1 with a 2.12 ERA as a college freshman and 12-2 as a sophomore in 2007. He was third in NCAA Division III in wins and second in strikeouts (120, just 3 behind leader Fabian Gomez) while posting a 2.35 ERA. He was even better in 2008 (9-0, 1.10, .168 opponent average). He joined Tim Kiely, Ryan Kulik and Kenny Moreland as the Division III All-American pitchers, as picked by the American Baseball Coaches Association. Kitchens was a more human 6-1, 2.19 with a .202 average allowed in 2009 as a senior. With the 2010 Oakland County Cruisers, the big righty was 5-7 with a 2.77 ERA in his pro debut, though he walked 67 and threw 12 wild pitches in 97 1/3 IP. He tied for second in the Frontier League in walks and tied for 4th in wild pitches. He bounced around the Frontier League in 2011, split between the Evansville Otters (0-2, 6.75), Traverse City Beach Bums (1-1, 5.82) and River City Rascals (1-1, 5.79). he struck out 56 in 55 innings but walked 47.
