Biographical Information[edit]
Vitor Souza has pitched for Atibaia in Brazil. He was on the Brazilian national team in the 2015 South American Championship; they got the Silver Medal. When they won the 2016 South American Championship, he allowed only one run in 9 1/3 IP on four hits and two walks while fanning eight. He relieved Gabriel Clovier with a 7-6 deficit in the 4th against Chile and got the win in relief. In the semifinals, he then tossed six shutout innings (2 H, 1 BB, 5 K) to beat Peru; former major leaguer Andre Rienzo finished up the game. He tied Murilo Gouvea and Miguel Puello for the Championship lead in wins.
