Biographical Information[edit]

Vendula Nesvadbová played for the first Czech women's national team, in the 2019 European Women's Championship; she came from a softball background. She set numerous firsts for the Czechs - she was their first pitcher (allowing 8 runs in one inning on 8 walks and 3 hits in a loss to France, being relieved by Pavla Mikšová), was their first batter (drawing a walk from Emma Liminier) and scored their first run (on a hit by Eva Ventrubová). She had 3 walks and 2 runs in that opening game, moving to 3B when she was relieved on the hill. She was the top Czech hitter in the event at .500/.733/.625 and scored 8 runs in their 4 games, though her ERA remained at 72.00 (three other Czech hurlers were higher, though). She tied Manon Marie, Marjorie Brunel and Rosie Lyard for 5th in the event in average, tied Lyard for 7th in slugging, was 4th in OBP (between Sofie van de Wiel and Léna Sellam), tied Anouk Vergunst for 9th in runs and tied for 7th with 3 steals (even with Ester Hochmanová and Winke Verdick). She led the Czechs in average (.056 ahead of Nikola Schwarzingerová), OBP (.150 ahead of Schwarzingerová), runs (one ahead of Ventrubová) and slugging (.181 ahead of Schwarzingerová).
