Biographical Information[edit]

Pavla Mikšová was on the first Czech women's national team, at the 2019 European Women's Championship. She had played softball for Tempo Praha. [1] In the 2019 European Women's Championship, she started at third base, hitting seventh in the opener against France. She grounded to pitcher Cassandra Vigneau her first at-bat, then relieved Vendula Nesvadbová on the hill with the bases loaded and a 6-4 deficit in the second. A passed ball scored one run then she walked Marjorie Brunel and Louise Maillard to force in another. Nahya Nguyen singled to make it 9-4 and a walk to Géraldine Gauzelin forced in one more. Eva Ventrubová relieved and all the runners scored, giving Mikšová a rough day on the hill. It was not out of line with the rest of the staff in a 30-7 mercy rule loss. She finished the Euros 0 for 2 with a walk and a RBI and with nine runs allowed (all earned) on four hits and six walks in 2/3 IP (she struck out Winke Verdick for her K). She did not have the highest ERA in a high-offense tournament, though - teammates Ventrubová (8 ER) and Johana Klimuškinová (10 ER) did not retire a batter. She had made history as the first reliever for the Czech women's team. [2]
